‘The Vampire Diaries’ season 6 spoilers: On a coven leader mystery

Most of the time these days, our coverage of “The Vampire Diaries” revolves around some of the big characters, whether we are talking about Damon, Stefan, Elena, or anyone else within the tiny town of Mystic Falls.

So with that in mind, why not transition for a minute over to something different? That is what we are going to do right now, as we do our best to discuss the future of Liv, Luke, and their coven. Are we going to meet the leader of their little group? It sounds like it is possible. If nothing else, executive producer Caroline Dries tells TVLine that there are going to be some further pieces of story that will be picked up and discussed related to all these characters:

“It’s linked heavily into the deeper mythology of the show this season … Once we start understanding why the heck we’re at Whitmore and what their coven is all about, we’ll really understand their plight in life and how it affects our characters.”

Hopefully, all of this happens soon given how frustrated we were most of the time with some of these characters throughout the fifth season. We wanted to care more about Liv and Luke than we ultimately did, largely because we spent such an enormous amount of time really struggling to even figure out what in the world was going on.

The new season will premiere on The CW come Thursday, October 2, so you will not have to wait too much longer now to finally get some further scoop.
