‘Real Housewives of New York City’ reportedly fires Aviva Drescher
When “The Real Housewives of New York City” eventually does return to the air, they will apparently come back without one of the cast members from this past season.
According to a new report coming in from Us Weekly, Aviva Drescher has been fired by Bravo, and will not be a part of the show’s upcoming season. Granted, the word “fired” may be a little harsh, given that this is probably more of a case where the show just decided to not bring her on board again.
Still, it is not hard to figure out what the reasoning for this may have been, given that cast members accused her on the show of playing up an illness to get out of trips, and then there is the whole leg-throwing drama that happened at the end of last season. While this was a glorious television moment, some of what led up to it may be part of the problem. The show wants someone who will actively participant the vast majority of the time, and not just on occasion.
In all honesty, though, we really have a hard time getting too excited or interested in cast changes one way or another here. While we understand that this is a pretty popular version of the franchise, it just hasn’t done that much to stand out on this end other than a few moments here and there. The only other real “event” from this past season that we consider to be even remotely notable is Ramona Singer getting into it with Andy Cohen at the reunion show.
