‘Glee’ season 6 spoilers: Lea Michele spends first day filming

The wait begins -

Good news for all “Glee” fans: Production is underway! This is something that you all probably assumed was coming up, mostly because of the simple fact that the cast was in the recording studio just last week preparing for it.

The best verification for it comes in the Twitter image below of series star Lea Michele, getting some of her hair and makeup done for the final season of the big gig. This is a very different season of “Glee” than really any before it. This is the first time that the show has started off with a time jump of presumably longer than just a couple of months, and this is also the first time that the series knows that the end is right around the corner.

How will the story evolve? This is one question, and so is how many major cast members are going to appear. Given the fact that the ratings were pretty bad for the latter part of season 5, we would imagine that the show is working on a slashed budget, and there is only so many resources that they can work with.

For now, we know that Darren Criss is going to have a large role in the first episode, given that he will have a number of songs to perform in the premiere. In addition to him, Chris Colfer, Matthew Morrison, Jane Lynch, Dot-Marie Jones, Amber Riley, and more will be back in series regular roles.

There is no premiere date just yet for the final season, but get ready to see it on the air as early as January 2015.
