TV Quick Hits: ‘Hemlock Grove’ renewed; ‘Faking It’ season 2 scoop; Cee Lo Green show canceled

“Hemlock Grove” to come to an end – We start here with a case of good news and bad news when it comes to “Hemlock Grove.” Netflix announced today that the horror drama will have a third season airing next year, but that it would also be the show’s last.

In a statement released today by the provider, executive producer Eli Roth had the following to say about getting a chance to wrap up the story:

“We are so grateful to the fans of ‘Hemlock Grove’ who have championed the series so intensely over two seasons. We are looking forward to taking the last and final season into some dark and unexpected places, and to giving viewers the killer finale you’d come to expect from ‘Hemlock Grove.’”

Given that Netflix is not bound to releasing their ratings like other networks are, it has always been difficult to gauge which shows on their roster are hits. However, this series never had the publicity of some of the others.

Cee Lo Green’s show canceled – In what is very unsurprising news, the former “Voice” coach’s show “The Good Life” has been canned by TBS. The ratings were pretty terrible, and this would have happened eventually regardless. The fact that Cee Lo made some controversial rape comments on Twitter, which he later deleted, probably made this decision even easier to announce right now.

“Faking It” scoop – How about some more details on the upcoming season of the MTV comedy? Yvette Monreal, per The Hollywood Reporter, has been cast in the new role of Regan, a hip, “edgy” lesbian. Meanwhile, Keith Powers will play Theo, a pal of Liam’s and also a potential love interest for one of the show’s female characters.
