‘Bachelor in Paradise’ review: Jesse Kovacs drama; did Jackie Parr, Brooks Forester get together?

Tonight’s “Bachelor in Paradise” episode was … well, pretty boring. Nobody talked with a raccoon, there were not many blowups between Graham Bunn and AshLee Frazier, and somehow Tasos Hernandez, the nicest guy known to man, ended up becoming a major plot point.

With this in mind, the show really tried to push the “drama music” when it comes to Jesse Kovacs … and we suppose we get it. The guy was a tool when it comes to how he hung out with the women, made out with many of them, and then tried to act all smug about it later. Why do guys like he and Ben Scott really show up, when they know they are going to be edited to look terrible? Clearly, they don’t care.

So after Jesse left and was told off by Christy Hansen and Michelle Money for her treatment of women, the only drama left was figuring out whether or not Jackie Parr would pick Zack Kalter, the guy who she’s been around for a while now, or newcomer Brooks Forester, who did his best to be the funny / charming guy again like he did on Desiree Hartsock’s season. We get why Brooks is popular, but it didn’t work as well for him here.

So now, we’re in the home stretch, and we have some couples who have some sort of shot at making it out of this experience together. Marcus Grodd and Lacy Faddoul is really the only one that we would put our money on right now; Cody Sattler and Michelle Money do have a little bit of potential, and maybe so do Tasos and Christy. The rest all seem either too tentative, or are just here because they are terrified of ending it (Graham and AshLee). Grade: C.
