‘White Collar’ season 6: Matt Bomer picks up work on next project
There is really no rest for Matt Bomer these days. This is a man who recently wrapped up work on “White Collar” after six seasons, and also has a gig on “American Horror Story: Freak Show” later this season.
Today, meanwhile, marks his return to another franchise that certainly has its fans: “Magic Mike.” The latest movie is filming beginning this month, and will be doing so for at least several weeks ahead. Bomer is reprising his role from the original, as are Channing Tatum, Bomer’s longtime friend / fellow “White Collar” alum Joe Manganiello, and more.
So why does all of this matter? To us, it is interesting to chart the career of a successful actor, and we’ve followed Bomer ever since the pilot of “Chuck,” when he has Bryce Larkin delivered the secrets into Chuck Bartowski’s brain. Since then, we’ve seen him on “White Collar,” “Glee,” “The Normal Heart,” and more. It is actually the HBO TV movie that has probably turned him into the super-hot-commodity that he is right now.
For those still wondering about how the journey for Bomer’s Neal Caffrey could end right now, what we’ve heard is that it will fit in well within the spirit of the show, and that the cast all had a hand in what creator Jeff Eastin decided to do. What’s exciting about this to us is that it means that the show was very invested in what the fans wanted, and there’s probably not going to be some sort of ending that comes out of left field that nobody who watches the show ever asked for.
As we get closer to the fall, hopefully we will have some further “White Collar” updates to share. For now, just click here to get some more of the latest news, or sign up now to get other scoop on all we cover via our CarterMatt Newsletter.
