‘The Vampire Diaries’ season 6: Paul Wesley’s latest project revealed

Given how time-consuming it must be working on a series like “The Vampire Diaries,” we are admittedly shocked that the actors have the time at all to do something else. The fact that Paul Wesley has managed to do a multitude of projects is even more impressive.

According to Deadline, the news is now out there is that Wesley’s new film “Amira & Sam,” which also stars Martin Starr and Dina Shihabi as a couple, an Army vet and an illegal Iraqi immigrant. The story is all about some of the struggles that happen in the world of immigration, with of course a touch of romance. Distributor Drafthouse has acquired the project, which will be released in a variety of different forms in early 2015.

Somehow, many of the “Vampire Diaries” actors have managed to continue to do other projects, while also keeping their day jobs in the past. Ian Somerhalder has also done some indie projects over the past few summers, in addition to working to run his foundation. Meanwhile, Nina Dobrev was a co-star in the big-budget comedy “Let’s Be Cops,” which starred other TV actors in Jake Johnson and Damon Wayans Jr. to go along with others. While this movie was not an enormous smash hit, it certainly made back its budget and prove that Dobrev does have a future in film after this show is over.

Based on the skill set that Wesley has, we’re pretty confident that you can say the same thing about him, as well.
