‘Sons of Anarchy’ season 7 spoilers: Kurt Sutter on upcoming Lea Michele appearance
Are you worried at all that Lea Michele on “Sons of Anarchy” will upset the tone and feel of the show? Well, you really should not be. While the “Glee” star may come from a completely different genre than the FX series, and appeal to a completely different audience, show creator Kurt Sutter has absolutely nothing other than overwhelmingly positive things to say about her.
Speaking on this subject in a new interview with TVLine, Kurt made it clear just what Lea’s role will be, and how game she was to take on this challenge despite the role not being anything close to playing Rachel Berry:
“I’m just now doing post-[production] on that episode, and she’s great … She completely went there. Not a stitch of makeup. She’s just a frumpy waitress. She really got it and embraced what the show was. I’m thrilled.”
As you probably would have expected, “Sons of Anarchy” executive producer / frequent director Paris Barclay (who has also helmed many “Glee” episodes) is a big reason why the gig happened in the first place:
“He’s really close to all those actors, and really helped them through their time of need … And I knew she was a big fan of the show, and we had this role that opened up. It was sort of a one-off and I knew we’d be able to get her in and out in a day. And the timing worked for her. She was thrilled.”
Michele is one of many surprising “Sons of Anarchy” guest stars coming up, given that you will also see appearances from Marilyn Manson, Courtney Love, and many more as we near the end of Jax Teller’s journey.
