‘The Amazing Race 25’ cast: See Bethany Hamilton, ‘Survivor’ alum, more in cast
We know that some people may not love “stunt casting” (as it is often called), we have no problem at all with the news that Bethany Hamilton will be a part of the upcoming 25th season of “The Amazing Race.” Not only that, but we have very few problems with most of the cast altogether announced by CBS. Almost all of them seem like a great bunch of personalities.
With that being said, why Keith Tollefson and Whitney Duncan of all people? These two are from “Survivor: South Pacific,” and there was a great deal of hoopla over their relationship back when they got together. Personally, we’re mostly surprised by their casting just because our most notable moment of either of them came when Whitney said “you disgust me” to John Cochran after he flipped to the Upolu alliance. They didn’t pop off the screen.
Anyway, all of the teams for this season are as follows…
Misti and Jim Raman – Married dentists from South Carolina.
Adam Dirks and Bethany Hamilton – Married surfers from Hawaii. Bethany was the inspiration for the movie “Soul Surfer,” and lost one of her arms in a brutal attack at sea.
Maya Warren and Amy DeJong – Food scientists, friends, and co-workers from Maidson, WIsconsin.
Dennis Hour and Isabelle Du – The token dating couple, this time from Tustin, California.
Brooke Adams and Robbie E. Strauss – Pro wrestlers, and there’s an interesting CBS connection here. Robbie, who goes by Robbie E at times, was a tag team partner of Jessie Godderz from “Big Brother” fame.
Whitney Duncan and Keith Tollefson – We’ve already mentioned them, and we do hope that they get a better chance to show who they really are on this show.
Kym Perfetto and Alli Forstyle – Friends / cyclists from New York.
Lisa and Michele Thomson – Sisters from Miami, Florida.
Michael Ward and Scott Strazzullo – Friends and firefighters from Boston, Massachusetts.
Shelley and Nici Porter – Mother / daughter team from Detroit, Michigan.
Timothy Tsao and Te Jay McGrath – Dating couple and “college sweethearts” from Pasadena, California.
The only other critique we have for now? The simple fact that there are not a whole lot of rural teams this time around, so there’s no Mark & Bopper 2.0 in the mix.
