‘The X Factor’ UK preview: Can Reece Bibby win over Simon Cowell?
Tomorrow marks the first edition of “The X Factor” this season, and this allows the opportunity for today to mark the first time we can really preview any of the particular contestants.
Reece Bibby is the lucky first one to get the spotlight, and we just have this feeling that this is not the last we will see of the 15-year old singer / guitarist over the course of this season. He is precisely the sort of artist that Simon Cowell would want, similar to what Justin Bieber was like before he got a million tattoos and started acting like the most important human being of all time. He seems humble, and still full of untapped potential.
Now, the only major issue with someone like this is if they are going to be able to develop the star quality and the personality needed to be a real star. The truth here is that you cannot just be a nice kid and be a superstar. You need a little edge to you. The show has already had many nice guys from Joe McElderry to Jahmene Douglas to Nicholas McDonald make it very far or even win the competition, but you barely hear about them at all after that.
We’ll most likely found out how talented Reece is, and also how prepared he is, when the competition starts to get really serious. It takes one thing to go into an audition on a whim; it is completely different when you know you are very good, but have to fight for a spot on the live shows.
