ABC’s ‘Castle’ season 7 spoilers: ‘Scandal’ alum to aid Stana Katic’s Beckett
It’s been a little while (or too long for our liking!) since we’ve had some scoop on “Castle” season 7, so we come today bearing this good news: A certain actor with “Scandal” ties is going to make his presence felt on the show’s upcoming September 29 premiere.
Per TVLine, Matt Letscher (whose credits also include “The Carrie Diaries” and “Boardwalk Empire”) has already filmed the premiere part of Henry Jenkins, a consultant in the world of security who “provides Beckett with information on the most important case of her life.” That’s great news for Stana Katic’s character, and also for our hero Rick as Kate looks to rescue him from whatever grim situation he finds himself in.
Much has been said about this “Castle” premiere, but not a lot of it helps to clear what are some of the cobwebs surrounding the episode as a whole. All we know for certain right now is that there will be elements of a two-parter in here, but not necessarily in the traditional sense. Also, whoever is behind Rick’s kidnapping could end up being a part of a larger story that spans the season.
So why is the season starting so late? You may have missed this, but on the first week of the fall season (September 22) ABC is launching new show “Forever” after “Dancing with the Stars” to give it a solid lead-in audience. This may be annoying, but here is the silver lining: This at least means one fewer repeat during the show’s actual 23-episode run.
Like the casting, and do you think that there is more to this Henry character than meets the eye, “Transformers”-style? Share below, and head over here to get some further “Castle” scoop. You can also sign up today for more updates on everything we cover now via our CarterMatt Newsletter.

Rick once participated in illegal activities. As such he became aware of a murder committed by someone else possibility even actually witnessing the murder. Something written by Rick in a recent novel convinced the murderer that Rick knows about the murder but traumatic amnesia caused by the murder act has caused Rick to shove it to the dark corners of his mind. However, the unconscious revealing of the murder in the novel hascaused the murderer to want to silence Rick. The crime consultant sees some connection between Rick’s novel and the murder and allerts Kate. Using the consultant’s help and that of a psychiatrist they will search out and find Rick and Iidentify the murderer (though it may take almost all season off and on).
