‘The Bridge’ season 2, episode 8 review: What happened to Sonya, and are she, Marco done?
Last week on “The Bridge,” we saw the drama peak to a new level as Adriana was attacked, Sonya realized a hard truth about Hank, and we further saw how twisted a guy Marco Ruiz has become.
The biggest revelation in here to us was seeing the result of Sonya learning what Marco has really been up to with Fausto Galvan and with David Tate. The man responsible for murdering his son Gus is now dead, but Sonya knows that this is not the sort of guy she wants to work with any longer. The trust is broken … and is the partnership over? Sonya could have needed some help when she was getting captured in the episode’s closing minutes, but we also don’t blame her for acting the way she did towards a guy who has not been even remotely honest towards her as of late.
One partnership that is surprisingly thriving right now is that between Eva and Stephen, especially as the latter started to open up more and more about who he is, some of his past, and how that shaped him into the protector that he is today.
This episode, from Sonya telling Hank to await his reckoning to the Eleanor pondering moves, was admittedly disjointed. There was a lot going on, and it’s a bummer that they couldn’t press it all in like they had last week where so many characters were working together. The show sometimes tries a little hard to have too many people doing too many different things. This hurt “Goliath” from reaching the same level of greatness as what we had last week. Grade: B.
