‘Fargo’ season 2 spoilers: One tiny plot detail now
Let us start this article off with what we consider to be very much the obvious statement: It is certainly understandable that you would want more of “Fargo” soon. Why wouldn’t you? This was one of the best series on the air in 2014, and was a complete showcase of great acting, strong writing, and unique scenery.
Unfortunately, it takes a long time to craft these stories! With that in mind, you’ll be waiting for a while to see the second season air on FX. Just know that when it does, there will be at least some thematic similarities between it and the episodes before it. Speaking to TVLine while on the red carpet for the Primetime Emmy Awards, showrunner Noah Hawley had the following to say on what to expect:
“There’s a lot of strong women … I love that [strong women] was the heart of the movie, and with Allison [Tolman] in season 1. That’s what we’re steering toward.”
You could say still the the main “focus” of season 2 will be Lou Solverson, the father of Tolman’s character Molly. Keith Carradine played Lou during the first go-around, but since we are shifting decades into the past, we anticipate a whole new slew of actors coming on for the roles. This case will be most-likely one of the things that shifted Lou’s development as a man coming home from the war, and the only real other spoiler that we can offer is that clearly, her survives. The story would clearly be very different in the end of this was not the case.
For the record, Tolman is doubtful about returning personally in season 2 … though she is open for future seasons if FX comes calling.
