Chelsea Handler sent off by Naya Rivera, Selena Gomez, Justin Theroux, and more (video)
The one thing that E! will have to give credit to Chelsea Handler for long after she is gone is continually finding a way to bring in so many celebrities to “Chelsea Lately.” After all, the send-off on the network last night brought almost as many celebrities together as we saw during the Primetime Emmy Awards the night before.
In the video below, you can basically see a re-interpretation of “We Are the World” all about the network, and some of the various celebrities to appear in it include Gwen Stefani, Fergie, Selena Gomez, Jennifer Aniston, Josh Gad, Naya Rivera, Justin Theroux, Trace Adkins, Tim Allen, Anna Faris, Wiz Khlaifa, Melissa McCarthy, Kelly Osbourne, and countless others we have not even mentioned here.
So with the capacity to get this many people all on her show in a single episode after seven years (not that long for some late-night hosts), why even leave? Our feeling is that Chelsea was not that fond long-term of being someone constantly within the E! machine, which contains Kardashians and several other cheesy reality shows. She wanted something a little more free, and she seems to have that with whatever she is developing on Netflix in the future. That’s going to be a huge challenge for her to make a talk show that can be completely independent of when people happen to watch it. Who knows? Maybe this ends up being more of the way of the future than we ever thought.
Anyway, E! is going to likely struggle for some time to find a good replacement for Chelsea, so we’ll also see what happens there.
What do you think about this “performance,” and also the way in which “Chelsea Lately” came to a close? Sure in the comments, and head over here if you want to acquire some other great TV updates now via our CarterMatt Newsletter.

I was watching the farewell and I looked and there was Naya singing, I was so surprised. I hope she gets her own show because Glee sucks.
