‘Rizzoli & Isles’ season 5, episode 12 (summer finale) preview: First look at ‘Burden of Proof’

“Rizzoli & Isles” has certainly been on a roller coaster ride throughout the entire summer, beginning with the Jane – pregnancy story before going into the death of Frost, some lighthearted moments here and there, and then Jane losing her baby and the aftermath of that.

So where does the story go from here in next week’s summer finale? The episode is entitled “Burden of Proof,” and you can take a look at the official synopsis below if you want further news on what to expect:

“A high-profile prosecutor is arrested for murder, but Jane soon suspects he didn’t commit the crime. Meanwhile, Angela educates Maura about modern-day kids when Maura anticipates meeting Jack’s 12-year-old daughter.”

For the most part, details have been sketchy on this episode, but you can expect something that teeters potentially to the dramatic side so that there is something exciting worth looking forward to.

So when will the show return? If we have it our way, we hope that it comes back for a November / December run. TNT is really great when it comes to putting new episodes of shows on the air during the holiday season, and that is particularly welcome since it means getting to watch without even thinking about anything else that is on the air.

Of course, beyond that there is still no reason to worry. This show remains one of TNT’s most-successful out there in the ratings, and there is so much more story to tell here so long as everyone involved wants to keep making them. The same goes for “Major Crimes” and some other anchors.
