TV Quick Hits: ‘Full House’ reunion, ‘2 Broke Girls’ for Kim Kardashian, Donald Glover’s dream
“2 Broke Girls” casts Kim Kardashian – Is this a sign of the apocalypse, or just a sign that “2 Broke Girls” really wants those headlines? It’s hard to tell.
Kim and CBS both confirmed that the reality star / person-famous-for-lots-of-things-and-yet-nothing-simultaneously will be appearing as herself on the season premiere of the comedy this fall, and will be potentially a major boon for Max and Caroline’s cupcake business … if she can be convinced to publicize them. We’re sure most of the internet will hate this news, but we don’t have a problem with the show trying to promote itself, and this seems like something the characters would do. What we wonder more is that Kim Kardashian would be doing in the neighborhood that Max and Caroline work in.
“Full House” … again? – It sounds so crazy that it just might work. TV Guide reports that Warner Bros. TV is eyeing a new version of the popular sitcom, with stars Candace Cameron Bure (D.J.), Jodie Sweetin (Stephanie) and Andrea Barber (Kimmy) all on board already. John Stamos would produce, but his role beyond that is unclear. The same goes for most other iconic actors from the show.
None of this news surprises us right now, given that multi-camera sitcoms are getting hot again, and “Girl Meets World” has proven to be a success for the most part over on the Disney Channel. Granted, we don’t know if anyone would be that excited if none of the other original stars made at least a few appearances.
Donald Glover as Spider-Man? – The former “Community” star has long wanted to be the web-slinger, and her is now getting the opportunity to at least do something close. USA Today reports that Glover will voice the Miles Morales character for the “Ultimate Spider-Man: Web Warriors” series on Disney XD. Morales is iconic to the Marvel world the past few years, and is a different iteration of the hero beyond Peter Parker. Good for Donald.
