‘The Newsroom’ season 3: See Jeff Daniels discuss TV acting, Emmys, and more
Jeff Daniels has had himself quite the busy August. Not only did he tour around his home state of Michigan with his son Ben and his band, but he also presented at the MTV Video Music Awards and also was at the Primetime Emmy Awards the next day.
Unfortunately for Daniels, he did not emerge victorious at the Emmys last night, but it’s easy to understand why. After all, he had the competition of Bryan Cranston in his final year of “Breaking Bad,” let alone Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson in “True Detective.”
The interview that we have for you below from Channel 4 in the Detroit area was filmed prior to the Emmy ceremony, but it does contain some great honest conversation about how winning an award for “The Newsroom” really did change things for the actor. He claimed that he is told now that he is “peaking,” and doing so at 59 years old. There are not a whole lot of other actors who can really say that.
There is also a little conversation in here about Robin Williams and remembering him, and there is a certain amount of appropriateness in this given that he was honored at the Emmys last night. Daniels remembered in here a time working with Robin on the movie “RV,” and the pressure that the legend put himself on in order to be his best at every given moment.
There is no premiere date officially for “The Newsroom” yet, but HBO has made it very clear that the world of ACN will return in November.
