2014 MTV VMAs: Fifth Harmony, Katie Stevens, Ariana Grande, Lucy Hale among early arrivals
Even though MTV decided to air a new episode of “Teen Wolf” at 7:00 p.m. Eastern time, some of the biggest stars out there have already been arriving for the Video Music Awards. We’re going to bring you some highlights throughout the night, but mostly with a TV spin since this is the subject matter we know the best.
Some of the images that you are going to be able to see below are of Ariana Grande (whose brother Frankie is currently in the “Big Brother” house), former “X Factor” group Fifth Harmony, “Pretty Little Liars” Lucy Hale, and many more.
One of the great things about the VMAs (at least for MTV) is that they can take advantage of this opportunity promote many of their own stars, as well. This is why you have such people as Ashley Rickards and Brett Davern (“Awkward”) there, alongside former “American Idol” singer and “Faking It” star Katie Stevens. Who would’ve imagined years ago that she would be the singer from season 9 currently in the best position in their career?
Interestingly, though, the group with the greatest amount of applause out of anyone were the boys from 5 Seconds of Summer, who have come out of nowhere to become one of the biggest sensations of the entire year. This is part of what is interesting about this show, since you do always track trends in such an interesting way. A couple of decades ago, there were different boy bands taking center stage.
