‘The Newsroom’ season 3: Jeff Daniels’ surprise (and live) appearance
While “The Newsroom” season 3 may not be on the air until later this fall, there is still good news from the world of Jeff Daniels tonight: You are going to see him as a VMA presenter!
If you are watching the MTV awards show tonight, you’ll get to see him present alongside his old pal Jim Carrey as promotion for “Dumb and Dumber To.” It’s thanks to this that the guy is going to be on quite a publicity tear a little later this year, but it makes sense for him to start it up tonight, given that the MTV audience is one that the show most likely is going to be looking for.
When it comes to the Daniels’ upcoming schedule, it probably could not turn out better for “The Newsroom” when it comes to getting an opportunity to better promote the show. Why do we say that? It’s all thanks to the fact that the movie is coming out in November, and it is right around then that the HBO series will be airing, as well. That means that he has a great opportunity to pull double-duty in promoting the two separate projects at the same time, which should in turn make a ton of people at the network happy.
Hopefully, we’ll have some more news related to the Aaron Sorkin series itself soon. We’re hoping for a new trailer or at least a teaser during the “True Blood” finale tonight, but that could be saved instead for “Boardwalk Empire.”
