‘Halt and Catch Fire’ season 2: Lee Pace reacts to renewal, takes ALS Ice Bucket Challenge
Before we do much else with this particular “Halt and Catch Fire” article, we kick things off with a reminder of some good news: The show was recently renewed for a second season! We were somewhat surprised after the ratings came in, and this feels ultimately like a good-faith gesture on the part of AMC that they think the audience for such a high-quality show can grow.
One person who is definitely thankful at the moment is the series’ own star in Lee Pace. Writing in a post on his Twitter, the actor had the following to say to the network itself as a result of the season 2 order:
“@AMC_TV thanks for picking up #HaltandCatchFire for a 2nd season! Congrats to our awesome cast and incredible crew! Thanks for all the love.”
Pace later joked on Twitter that the entire second season would be performed in the buff and entitled “Halt and Get Naked.” This wouldn’t be the first time that AMC actually changed the name of the show if they actually did that, though: “Turn” was recently re-named “Turn: Washington’s Spies” in an effort for more people to likely understand what the show was about. The first name was one of the most arbitrary things ever and therefore somewhat frustrating.
Filming for the new season is still not for a little while, but we’ll try to have some further news as it becomes available. For now, just sit back and enjoy Pace’s ALS Ice Bucket Challenge video.

Cameron gets it much like Gates did. She sees that HOW you get data around is more important than the hardware, just as Gates told Jobs that the money and the future was in the software, not the hardware.
However, Jobs proved that perhaps both were equally important with iTunes and the iPod, and then with subsequent products.

liked this show. thot it was heartless of cameron to turn joe away when he came for her. it was kind of like, i want you, but when you want me, i dont want you any more….I dont think he had shown the bad part of himself anymore than before…or was scene where she sent him away that just after her finding out he had made a devious situation for her w the pretend loosing data. I dont think so.

Joe had been a prick to Cameron on multiple occasions during the season 1) Telling her that she wouldn’t get the job right after sex–effectively demeaning her and the act, 2) Sending her on vacation and hiring a coding team that pushed her out and marginalized her contribution, 3) Telling her that this “thing” that they have–whatever it is doesn’t mean she can just walk into his office. 4) Putting her through the ringer with pretend losing her code, 5) Telling her that he doesn’t know if he’s going to get bored with her. The final straw was 6) when she wanted him to keep her code–the thing that she put weeks into, and that was her mark–he let Gordon delete it. She was right, he isn’t the future, he’s a blip in history. Such awesome writing. Glad for renewal! Looking forward to more Cameron/Donna, Cameron/Joe, Joe/Everyone!
