TV Quick Hits: ‘Parks and Recreation’ spoilers; ‘Red Band Society’ pilot online; ‘Minority Report’ series
Rachel Dratch visits “Parks and Recreation” – Just because you never make Pawnee too awesome, we come bearing some great news today: Rachel Dratch is joining “Parks and Recreation”!
There is not a whole lot of news on the character just yet, at least other than this little tease per Entertainment Weekly: She will play the nanny to Ben and Leslie’s triplets. Given that this is Rachel Dratch we are talking about here, she will probably be no ordinary nanny at all.
Dratch joins a guest-cast that includes the returns of Natalie Morales and also Megan Mullally. There’s still no word on a premiere date, but you can expect it at some point in 2015.
Watch the “Red Band Society” pilot now – Want to see the upcoming Fox drama’s first episode a little early? For a limited time, the show has been made available on Hulu following a charity initiative. It stars Octavia Spencer (“The Help”) as a pediatric nurse who oversees a part of the hospital that may be difficult to some. This is meant to be more of an uplifting show than a depressing one, and if you like some of her past work, it may be worth checking out.
Remember here, though, that this pilot is only going to be available until August 26.
“Minority Report,” the show? – There is not a whole lot to report here other than what is already over on TV Guide: Steven Spielberg is in the early stages of developing a show based off of the very popular Tom Cruise movie about pre-crime, which can determine who is going to do something terrible before they do.
While we never want to see television become too heavy on the adaptations, this still could be a really cool idea. We’ll just have to see what happens from here.
