‘The Flash’ spoilers: ‘Star-Crossed’ alum set to play Girder
Earlier this summer, we first heard the news that “The Flash” was going to bring into its universe one of the other classic characters from DC lore in Girder, and we now have some good news: We know just who is going to be playing this very villain!
According to a new report from Zap2It, Greg Finley from another CW show in “Star-Crossed” is set to play Tony Woodward in the sixth and seventh episode of the season. In the world of the TV show, Woodward is a former bully of Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) who as a result of the S.T.A.R. Labs explosion, develops an ability to turn his skin into metal. From there on out, this is pretty easy to telegraph: He causes all sorts of chaos, and this in turn leads to The Flash trying to come to the rescue.
Given that this is a great villain from DC lore with ties to The Flash, we’re thrilled to see them on the show. Also, we hope that this follows a similar trajectory to “Arrow” in that it gives you multiple opportunities to see villains come back and cause more trouble down the road. We could see girder in a Suicide Squad sort of organization, or at least as another potential villain down the road.
The new season of “The Flash” is going to premiere on The CW on Tuesday, October 7, but we will of course have a whole lot more in the news / updates department before that time. Stay tuned for some of that!
