‘Dancing with the Stars’ spoilers: Could Julianne Hough become full-time judge?
It appears that “Dancing with the Stars” is preparing for a major change when it comes to their judging panel for the first time ever … and it involves hiring Julianne Hough to be a permanent judge.
The news about Hough being “in talks” comes courtesy of TMZ, and it is an interesting move. Julianne went away from the dance world for a while to do music and acting, and while she met some success, she also failed to really crack the A-list. This is a chance to get somewhat back to her roots, but we are still surprised that she would not return as a dancer given that so much of her talent was in that and the choreography she came up with.
Still, we understand that it has been almost twenty seasons with the same people at the panel, and that sometimes, change is very good. You also have to remember that Len Goodman is probably going to be retiring at some point within the reasonably near future, or at least potentially limiting himself so that he doesn’t have to travel from the United Kingdom every week to do this show and “Strictly Come Dancing.”
Our judging pick would continue to be Maksim Chmerkovskiy, mostly because during Hough’s two turns as a guest judge, she has seemingly called out Mark Ballas and Maks for things, and we feel like the focus should be more on the celebrities themselves unless there is something totally egregious happening like terrible choreography. Plus, Maks has been affiliated with the show for a longer span of time.
