‘Arrow’ season 3 spoilers: Meet the show’s Simon Lacroix

“Arrow” is wasting no time bringing an abundance of prominent DC Comics villains into the fold, and for the latest example of that, we’re here to discuss Simon Lacroix today!

According to a report coming in from Entertainment Weekly, “Hellcats” alum Matt Ward is set to guest-star in at least one season 3 episode as the famed and fearsome archer, who is an enemy of the Green Arrow’s in the comics. He goes by the code name Komodo, and on the show he will be a mercenary who stirs up all sorts of trouble in Starling City.

Personally, what we are especially curious about is if this is going to be one of the few “characters with major ties to Oliver’s past,” given that Komodo is obvious a name derived from Asian lore, and Stephen Amell’s character will be spending a good deal of time in Hong Kong moving forward. We already know, after all, that Katana will be one of the characters who is present there alongside Amanda Waller.

Regardless, this marks the latest character with significant comic-book ties that we are going to see on the show, and they join a list that includes Ray Palmer and the Big Bad for the season in Ra’s al Ghul. This is the role we are still waiting to see cast, given that we are both extremely excited and nervous about it given that the Liam Neeson – “Batman Begins” take on the character is still pretty fresh in our mind.
