‘Under the Dome’ season 2, episode 8 video: Big Jim is on the case

If we were a resident of Chester’s Mill, the last thing that we would want is Big Jim in a position where he can enact any sort of authority over others. That may mean a place in the world of politics, or that may mean seeing him putting on a Sheriff’s badge. Either way, we can file this under “Bad news for all involved.”

In the sneak peek below for Monday’s “Under the Dome,” we see just how easy it is (surprisingly so) for Jim to hop on board the police force in hopes of taking over where Barbie left off. Junior is of little resistance, and either he realizes that he has little to no choice, or the town is really that desperate in the wake of Barbie’s absence.

With Barbie learning a thing or two about the outside world now potentially, life inside the dome could get so much more complicated … and not necessarily in a good way. One of the strangest aspects of this show has been that “good” never really seems to mean “good” in the way in which we would imagine. Whenever we have a reason to be hopeful over the future, something else happens to wreck that and make us think that the characters are screwed all over again.

As we start to near the end of season 2, hopefully some of these questions will lead us to an answer. However, we’re not going to sit here and say we expect to figure out the truth about everything. The show has never been so kind as to dish the truth on every little thing.
