‘Masters of Sex’ season 2, episode 6 preview: Libby’s issues with Coral continue
What in the world is going on with this Coral storyline on “Masters of Sex“? If we are being quite honest, this entire Libby storyline has been the biggest stumbling block in a season that is somewhat lagging behind the first one.
The biggest complaint that we have with Coral at the moment is merely a lack of understanding as to why she is even such a big part in the narrative. It’s like the writers wanted to keep Masters’ home life an important part of the show, and also give something for Libby to do that makes her somewhat unlikable. Also, her racist overtones most of the time don’t gel completely with her dance sequence on the show last season.
Still, this story continues, and in the sneak peek below, Masters accuses his wife of being a “Peeping Tom,” and being extremely involved in a relationship between two people who are not even doing anything wrong in his eyes. She then tries to compare what she is doing watching the two of them with what Bill does watching African-American people have sex, and he argues that there really is not a comparison to be made.
Who knows? Maybe this is the show’s way of softening the blow for when Libby is inevitably thrust out of the picture at some point during the show’s run. There is probably a peak coming to this story in the near future, and maybe at that point, things will start to make a little more sense here than they do right now.
