ABC’s ‘Revenge’ season 4 spoilers: Lisa Simpson actress lands live-action role
How is this for some casting news we didn’t see coming? For one of its latest guest stars, “Revenge” season 4 has signed someone up who is famous for her voices, but not as recognizable as an onscreen presence.
Per a report from TVLine, Yeardley Smith, who has voice Lisa Simpson for decades on “The Simpsons,” will guest star during the premiere episode as a woman named Phyllis within the same mental institution as Victoria Grayson (Madeleine Stowe).
While Smith is obviously iconic for voicing Lisa, she has done some other live-action gigs over the years, including one-episode spots on “Mad Men” and “The Big Bang Theory.” She obviously makes a great living being the famed daughter of Marge and Homer, and we see these other jobs more as her just getting her opportunity to stretch her wings and try out some other things to keep things fresh. After all, it must be somewhat tiring to do the same exact thing for several decades in a recording studio.
Smith joins Elena Satine of “Agents of SHIELD,” who is playing the “black sheep” within a powerful and popular family with Southern roots, as one of the most notable guest stars for the new season. Obviously you’ll be seeing more of James Tupper as David Clarke, but he has already been promoted to series regular after the shocking events of the season 3 finale.
The new season will premiere on ABC Sunday, September 28 at 10:00 p.m. Eastern time, and we will surely have some further scoop about what you can expect before then.
For now, what do you think about bringing Smith over for a gig here, and do you think Victoria will stay locked up for very long?
