‘Sleepy Hollow’ season 2 spoilers: ‘The Mentalist’ actress to play Abbie’s mom
“Sleepy Hollow” has already teased that we are going to be finding out more of Abbie Mills’ past on season 2, and they are now backing that up with some pretty consistent evidence.
According to a new report from Entertainment Weekly, Aunjanue Ellis is set to play the role of mom to Abbie and Jenny, but she’s not exactly the loving, doting type. Finding out more about her will illuminate more of why these two characters are the way that they are in the present, which could be integral in discovering their roles in stopping the Apocalypse.
Most recent TV fans may know Ellis best for her role as Madeleine Hightower on “The Mentalist,” but she has also done some arcs on “NCIS: Los Angeles,” the short-lived “Missing,” and HBO’s “True Blood.” At 45 years old, one of the great things about this casting is that we could see her playing the character well either in the past or the present without too many problems.
When season 2 of “Sleepy Hollow” starts up, we are not going to be finding this character in a particularly wonderful place. Namely, she is going to be trapped within a giant version of her childhood dollhouse while also in purgatory, and we’ll have to wait and see if anyone is going to be capable of rescuing her. The unfortunate thing is that Ichabod is going to be buried underground, and Jenny may be recovering from some near-death experience. Basically, everyone’s screwed in their own way, but given that it would be a very short series if the good guys all lost, we feel like they will eventually figure all of this out.
