‘So You Think You Can Dance’ results: Tanisha Belnap, Rudy Abreu shockers
We are basically at that point now on “So You Think You Can Dance” where almost every single dancer who goes home is a great one. They at least still get to be a part of the big tour, and they can have the achievement of knowing that they went extremely far into a very difficult competition. It’s physically taxing, emotionally a struggle, but at the same time one of the biggest thrills for any dancer ever. This was also the busiest week in a while, given that everyone had two separate routines to perform.
So what ended up taking place on this particular episode? There was of course more dancing over the course of the two hours, but by the end someone did have to take their final bow. In the end, these were definitely shocking exits! We didn’t imagine that either Tanisha Belnap or Rudy Abreu would be leaving the competition by the end of this episode; while we weren’t sold on them as finalists, they had enough consistency in our mind to last another week.
Looking ahead to the final weeks, we really don’t know how all of this is going to end thanks to one very simple reason: Having only one winner again. This was a little easier to call for a little while when Nigel Lythgoe was handing out male and female champions, since it was a little easier to pick a favorite. Now, however, things are a little different, and you’re having to judge dancers against other dancers who are all extremely good.

Yet another tragic season with So You Think You Can Dance. Clearly voters don’t vote based on talent. Without question there is NO way Tanisha and Rudy should have been let go this week. Consistently strong, constantly growing and always beyond impressive. And we’re very tired of listening to the judges and their inconsistent remarks between contestants. Outside of the dancers, the show itself is falling prey to the substandard reality TV mediocrity. Such a shame indeed!
