‘The X Factor’ USA: Fifth Harmony’s ‘Reflection’ cover art, VMA gig

ReflectionThis is turning out to be quite the week for Fifth Harmony! It was not that long ago that it was first announced that the “Bo$$” singers were going to be performing during the pre-show for the 2014 MTV Video Music Awards, and now, we’ve also had a chance to check out their first album cover for “Reflection.”

The former “X Factor” contestants are definitely going with the same more mature style that they showed with “Bo$$” than some of their teen pop stylings in their “Better Together” EP, and given where they ultimately want to end up, we can not particularly blame them. It is hard to ultimately stay in the pop world for a long time catering to just a young market, and audiences grow up very quickly.

There is no premiere date for this new album just yet, but you are probably going to be able to see it out at some point in the fall, with plenty of time to spare so that fans can pick it up in time for the holiday season. Fifth Harmony is well on their way to becoming one of the most-successful acts in the history of the short-lived American version of the show. They are getting close to joining Emblem3, Tate Stevens, and Alex & Sierra as the only former contestants to release a debut album on a major label. The only reason that we imagine this one taking this long is because the group needed some time to blend and figure out their sound. That’s hard to do in just a few months following the show.
