‘Rizzoli & Isles’ season 5, episode 10 preview: How does Jane get back into action?

The writers of “Rizzoli & Isles” had a difficult challenge for themselves on tonight’s new episode. They clearly knew long in advance that this was going to be where Jane lost her baby, but they still had to figure out a way in which to make it happen where everyone was not embroiled in tragedy for an extremely long period of time.

So while tonight’s episode was emotionally, it seems like next week’s “Phoenix Rising” is meant to be not only a little bit inspirational, but also a little funny as Jane tries to find a way to continue to have herself actively involved in the job. You can get a little sense of that in the promo below where she dons an “undercover” outfit. Just in case this was not enough for you to get excited, though, we suggest taking a look at the official synopsis:

“The team helps Korsak investigate an old case that has gone very, very cold. Jane refuses to believe that she’s not ready to go back on duty and takes some untraditional steps to stay involved.”

We’re sure that everything that happened with the baby will not be forgotten, and it really cannot given that Jane’s not back at work yet. This episode will probably be about balancing things out, but if there was one thing that we were reminded of tonight above all else, it is that these characters are a family and will do their best to pull through anything. We’ll have to see what happens throughout the rest of the season.
