‘MasterChef’ season 5, episode 13 preview: Are Big Willie and Cutter in trouble?

Were you choked up during tonight’s “MasterChef” episode? If you were, we certainly don’t blame you. This was the hardest elimination of the season, and probably one of the hardest ones that we’ve had since Ben many seasons ago. Ahran was great! We feel like the judges did the right thing given that Leslie was better in the individual Pressure Test, but that doesn’t make it any easier.

So next week, the remaining eight chefs are going to be working in pairs! While promos can be deceptive, the one after the episode suggested that we’ll have Leslie and Elizabeth teaming up, in addition to Big Willie and Cutter (who may be in a little bit of trouble). There’s also another Pressure Test, which is somewhat interesting given that we are still in the kitchen.

Who is the favorite to win at this point? It’s probably Courtney, but we would also throw Elizabeth in that category. Even Leslie has an outside chance, if for no other reason than that he’s got more momentum now than any of the other men still in the competition. Christian may last a little while longer, but his somewhat-invisible edit at times makes us nervous. By the end of the next installment, we do know that only seven chefs are going to still be around fighting for their lives in the competition. We’ll just have to wait and see where the story goes from here, and who gets a chance at making their true culinary dreams come true.
