‘Masters of Sex’ season 2, episode 6 preview: Bill’s stumbling blocks in ‘Blackbird’
For Dr. William Masters, something on next week’s new “Masters of Sex” episode is going to feel very familiar: The struggle of it all. Just when he starts to think that he has made it to a point where his study can go off without a hitch, multiple problems enter and mess things up.
With that being said, there are also a number of other issues moving forward that could complicate matters even further for Masters’ family life and also what is going on with Victoria professionally. “Blackbird” is the name of this episode, and you can see the synopsis for this below. First, a warning: This one is from TV Guide, and it actually contains a lot of information about what happens. If you want to avoid some spoilers, skip over it and check out the promo.
“Hendricks bans Masters from using black participants in his study, but Masters contacts a journalist to aid his efforts. Meanwhile, Johnson is forced to accept DePaul’s choice to end her chemotherapy treatments; Gene learns the truth about Betty and Helen’s relationship; and Libby fires Coral after discovering she lied about Robert being her lover.”
Obviously, there is a whole lot going on within this episode, and there is a worthy argument to be made here on the subject of whether or not all of this is really needed. Couldn’t we move forward without a whole lot of this and be just fine? Personally, we are pretty inclined to believe so at this point, given that Masters and Johnson are the true-life story that we’re here for.
