‘The Flash’ spoilers: The latest guest star is … Mr. Krabs?
How about this for some super-fun, and also super-surprising, guest star scoop for “The Flash”?
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Clancy Brown has been tapped to play the recurring role of General Wade Eiling on the CW show. The character goes often by just the General, and he will spearhead a group of very talented specialists starting in the fifth episode looking for Plastique (who is to be played by Kelly Frye). This character does have a history within the DC Universe, and it’s not exactly one as a hero most of the time.
What’s a little more interesting about this casting is some of Brown’s own history with the universe already. He is a well-known voice actor for Lex Luthor of all people, and has also voiced Marvel comic characters including Odin, Taskmaster, Rhino, and Red Hulk. His most-famous voice credit of all, though, is probably Mr. Krabs on “SpongeBob SquarePants,” given that he has held this gig for almost 200 episodes of the show to this point.
In terms of live-action work, Brown is coming over from a tint on “Sleepy Hollow,” and he joins an impressive legion of comic characters appearing on this “Arrow” spin-off including Girder, Captain Cold, Firestorm, Killer Frost, Vibe, and many more. Basically, this is not a show that is shying away from putting as many heroes and villains on the screen as possibly, especially when it comes to ones with superpowers. This is something that “Arrow” has tried its best to steer clear of for the most part throughout the run so far.
