‘The Leftovers’ episode 7 preview: The mystery of Kevin’s father

In some ways, you could consider Kevin Garvey on “The Leftovers” to be a lucky man. After all, both he and most of his other loved ones survived the departure. However, for some reason this has not worked out according to plan for him. As a matter of fact, almost everyone is now more miserable now than they were beforehand. Laurie is off with the Guilty Remnant, Jill has all sorts of problems, and Tom is the most distant one of the entire gang.

So where does us take us for the new episode airing Sunday night? To another mystery related to the family in Kevin’s own father. This is someone who was under some sort of “treatment” per what he tells Jill in the sneak peek below … but also because he hurt someone. When the news breaks that he is not receiving any treatment anymore, what happens next? We’re imagining that this has to be some sort of chaos, and it cannot be good.

The funny thing here is that we were starting to have a little bit of hope after the last episode that things were going to turn out okay. After all, we had Kevin and Nora Durst getting close! They could unite as a couple! Unfortunately, such proclamations may only give way to more sadness before they can come to fruition. We have yet to even see Nora in any of the promotional material for Sunday night’s installment, and this is after she was the focus of this past episode “Guest.”
