‘Agents of SHIELD’ season 2 spoilers: Has ‘NYPD Blue’ alum joined the team?
The cast for “Agents of SHIELD” just continues to expand, whether you are talking about Kyle MacLachlan, Lucy Lawless, or the latest member of the team.
According to a new report coming in from TVLine, “NYPD Blue” alumni Henry Simmons has signed on to recur as a mechanic in his early thirties by the name of Alphonso “Mac” Mackenzie. In true “Agents of SHIELD” fashion, the show is not too keen on giving you anything other than this. They are notoriously secretive, almost to the point where you feel like a lable like “mechanic” is really code for them doing something a whole lot more substantial.
So far, what we really know about “Agents of SHIELD” season 2 is this: The show will still be attempting to pick up the pieces following the whole HYDRA fiasco at the end of last season, and there will still be appearances from Cobie Smulders and some other surprise actors who you know already. While there will not be as big of a movie crossover event as what happened between this show and “Captain America: The Winter Soldier,” we’d be shocked if there were at least not a decent amount of nods to the cinematic universe thrown in there.
Overall, though, the biggest thing about the show to be excited about is that it feels like the series is finally starting to find its footing a little bit, and is not just suffering from some of the same struggles that they were previously.
