‘The Vampire Diaries’ season 6 spoilers: Nina Dobrev’s Elena and a new gig?

We’ve always wondered something when it comes to the characters of “The Vampire Diaries”: How in the world are they able to afford everything? Characters like Elena constantly get great costumes for all of the balls that she attends, but we never actually see her working.

Well, we are at least going to see on the upcoming sixth season something that Nina Dobrev’s character will be doing to further her professional career. Per a new report from SpoilerTV, she will be working as a (hopefully paid) intern at the Whitmore Medical Center, where she can probably showcase some of the skills that she has picked up over time. She will be specifically working under Dr. Jo Robles, who is the character played by Jodi Lyn O’Keefe. She is also going to reportedly be a prospective love interest for Alaric over time, which continues the Saltzman tradition of having feelings for people who are close to Elena. (Just remember Aunt Jenna here!)

Given the sort of life that Elena leads, we only imagine it being a matter of time before vampires and other craziness starts to flood into this medical center, and everyone who works there has their own work cut out for them trying to keep things normal. The good news, at least for the time being, is that all of this sounds like it will make for every entertaining television.
