‘Longmire’ season 4: Producers, Robert Taylor on character’s appeal

At this point, the events of the “Longmire” finale are starting slowly to settle into place. We know now what Jacob Nighthorse and Barlow Connally did when it comes to the murder of Walt’s wife, and we also know that there could be an especially dark future ahead for Branch … if he even survives what his father tried to do to him in the closing minutes.

Obviously, we still don’t know if there will be a season 4, but the new video below via A&E, which features highlights from the big episode this week, serves as yet another reminder as to why we should. Both the producers of the show along with star Robert Taylor touch on what makes Longmire such an interesting, appealing TV character. While he is a flawed man, he is still a guy who is almost always intent on trying to do the right thing and doing his job with honesty and integrity. Those are rare qualities on cable these days, especially when you look at the prevalence of many of the “antiheroes” that are out there.

Hopefully, we’ll have a chance to continue cheering on this character, especially since there is work still to be done. He’s more aware of the circumstances around him than ever before, but as we’ve learned over three seasons, this is a complicated world. In addition to trying to close the door on his past, he’ll still have to work to solve the various mysteries of the present. For a relatively small community in Wyoming, there is constantly something going on.
