‘Mad Men’ season 7 video: If only this Christina Hendricks story was included
There are seven episodes left (at most) to see Christina Hendricks play Joan on “Mad Men,” but before those air, we’ve also got another unique opportunity to see her now in the video below!
Specifically, what we have here is a pretty hilarious new video that Hendricks has done with the folks with Funny or Die, with the premise about it being that a Joan-like character is stuck in a modern office. She thinks that an iPhone is a Pop Tart, that it’s still okay to smoke and make drinks in the office, and that you can erase a typo on your computer using an actual eraser. It’s all funny stuff, and Hendricks plays oblivious here pretty well.
There is a larger point in this video, with it being about women in the workforce and the lack of opportunities given to him. There are also a few pretty shocking statistics in here, as well. The reason why this was such a smart video for Hendricks to be a part of is that it is the classic example of using a bait-and-switch for good. You present a spoof that is funny that you want to watch, while at the same time getting some valuable information in the process. This is actually what “Reading Rainbow” did so well for many years: Convincing kids that they were watching something fun, while at the same time teaching about reading and the English language.
“Mad Men” season 7 will not premiere until the spring of next year, but what do you think about this video now? Share below, and click here to see the latest of what Hendricks had to say about Joan. You can also sign up now to get some other updates on all we cover now via our official newsletter.
