‘Arrow’ season 3 spoilers: ‘Fun’ times ahead for Felicity, Laurel

Hear that sound? It’s the noise caused from us celebrating the latest bit of “Arrow” scoop! After all, we cannot express just how happy we are at the thought of a network show (especially one on The CW) that can have young, female characters who get along well, and also are not fighting over a guy despite them both having history with him.

Of course, we’re talking here about Laurel and Felicity! One is for sure a huge part of his past romantically, and the other could be a big part of his future. Speaking to TVLine, executive producer Marc Guggenheim teased that there would be a ton of “fun” moments ahead for Emily Bett Rickards and Katie Cassidy; not only that, but Sara Lance should also be added to the mix:

“These characters [including Sara] should all be more than just who they are to Oliver … We’re always trying to flesh out Felicity’s character and Laurel’s character and Sara’s character beyond whether or not they’re going out with Oliver that week.”

Hooray! We know that Caity Lotz is going to at least appear in a few episodes this coming season, but it could be more than that depending on everything that transpires. Laurel and Felicity are of course not going anywhere in the near future. Both have a lot going on, and while it comes to Emily’s character, she’s about to receive way more romantic attention than ever before. In addition to having the attention potentially of Oliver, she’ll also be seeing Barry Allen on at least one crossover with “The Flash,” and Ray Palmer could also potentially be after her at some point this season.
