‘The Following’ season 3 spoilers: Kevin Bacon on Ryan Hardy and … fatherhood?

Given what we have seen Ryan Hardy go through on “The Following” so far, it seems like the craziest thing imaginable would be seeing him actually be happy for a change.

As you may know already, there is going to be a new love interest for Kevin Bacon’s character on the show moving forward. What you may not know right now is just how the two are going to be involved in the story the rest of the way. Speaking to E! News, Bacon made it clear that this doesn’t just involve him being a good boyfriend; it also involves him being a good father:

“This season we’re going to see Ryan Hardy really and truly happy … What we know about Ryan’s new girlfriend is that they’re happy together. She is a doctor and we’re living together. She has a daughter. So I’m actually trying to experience some domesticity. Along with this inner struggle to pull myself together I’m also taking on a pretty giant adjustment being a dad.” 

For the time being, we are excited about this story and what our expectations are for it. However, at the same time we’re also more than a little bit nervous when it comes to this woman’s fate. For example, nobody on this show ever stays happy for long, and there’s also the issue that most of the people who get close to Ryan have something terrible happen to them.
