ABC’s ‘Castle’ season 7 spoilers: Different Nathan Fillion – Stana Katic mysteries ahead

“Castle” has always been a show about mysteries … but traditionally, most of these said mysteries don’t involve the main characters front and center. There may be times during season 7 that this changes.

By now, you’ve heard enough about the new backstory that is being established with Castle’s capture and the events coming in the premiere, but how will these be reflected on him? Despite not being at fault directly for being put into a near-death experience, the events that happen here could force Nathan Fillion’s character to look within himself and at his own past for some answers. Just take a look at what new showrunner David Amann says to TV Guide on the subject:

“There are going to be some unanswered questions and some really great mysteries that Castle himself is going to be investigating moving forward.”

So what are some specific questions he may ask? Show creator Andrew W. Marlowe also gives us a little bit of insight into that:

“Why does he do what does? Why is he interested in murder? What has gone on in his past? These are rich questions we haven’t really explored.”

At least these questions mean that Fillion and Stana Katic will continue to have cool things to do, which was at one point in question by some critics out there. There’s always a concern that after a TV wedding, things can get a little stale between the characters … but it doesn’t seem like that is going to happen. (Provided, of course, that there is an actual wedding to speak of.)

The show premieres on September 29, so you will just have to wait around eagerly until that time to see what happens next.
