‘The Bridge’ season 2, episode 5 spoilers: Franka Potente on Eleanor’s story, future
Without a doubt, Eleanor is one of the questions marks on a season of “The Bridge” filled with them. She is on one side a Javier Bardem – “No Country for Old Man” sort of villain who cannot be fully understood. Meanwhile, she has some connection to Fausto Galvan and whoever he has locked up. There is something deeper to her, but we do not know all of the answers to that just yet.
What we can say is that Franka Potente is doing a very good job playing who we personally feel to be a quite terrifying character. Speaking to SpoilerTV, though, the actress claims that this role may be a little simpler than it at first looks:
“I think inside she’s quite simple … What’s complicated is her baggage from the past and the history of the terrible things that have happened to her and are still very present in her life and driving her to do what she does.”
For those curious, Potente also teases that we will see Eleanor soon enough spend a little bit of time with both Charlotte and Ray, which we feel to be very important from the standpoint of giving those two characters something to do. They have been the two characters we wonder the most about since the beginning of the show, mostly from the standpoint of why in the world they are even still there.
There is another episode of “The Bridge” on tomorrow night, and hopefully, this will be the one to provide more in the way of answers. Given that we’re still less than a third into the season, there are some crazy things to still come.
