‘True Detective’ season 2 spoilers: Could Elisabeth Moss come right over from ‘Mad Men’?
Elisabeth Moss may getting a very rare chance this year to jump from one of the greatest shows on all of TV to another.
According to a new report coming in now via TheWrap, Moss is in discussions to play the female lead for “True Detective” season 2. While we’ll keep some details about her role quiet for now, she is a sheriff named Ani Bezzerides who has a checkered past and, like Rust Cohle, a difficult relationship with alcohol. This certainly sounds like a very different part than Peggy Olsen, who she played for so many years on “Mad Men” before closing the door on it earlier this summer.
Moss could be joining what is a pretty high-profile cast for the project. Two of the other leads are potentially going to be played by Colin Farell and Taylor Kitsch, while the much-discussed role for Vince Vaughn could be as one of the show’s primary villains. It’s a stellar cast, and the fact that “The Killing” alum Michelle Forbes is potentially on tap for another role is only icing on the cake.
The thing to remember is that nothing has still be confirmed by HBO, but we would imagine that filming for the new season will take place at some point later this year. The setting for the show is California, so we imagine that filming will also take place in various parts of the state. Just don’t expect to see the same vantage point that you traditionally get from some other shows set in the area.
What do you think about the cast that is shaping up for this new “True Detective” season? Let us now some of your thoughts now with a comment.
