TV Quick Hits: ‘The Voice’s’ Blake Shelton, ‘Sharknado 2’ in theaters, ‘School of Rock’ TV show
Blake Shelton’s new album – Somehow, Blake Shelton manages to find the time to do everything. The guy already is a judge on “The Voice” and artist who spends tons of time on the road; now, he also is getting set to release his whopping 11th album. Not bad given that the guy is only 38 years old.
This album is called “Bringing Back the Sunshine,” and will hit stores on September 30. This is all definitely fitting from the perspective of timing, given that the new season of “The Voice” featuring Blake is going to premiere starting on September 22.
Want some other TV news? Then take a look below.
“Sharknado 2” swims to theaters – Given its success on Syfy, you probably saw a theatrical release for the TV movie coming. Fathom Events is going to allow Tara Reid and company to have a run in theaters on Thursday, August 21, and it will include a good deal of never-before-seen footage … just in case the regular “Sharknado 2” experience was not enough for you.
We would totally pay to see this in theaters just for the sake of the entertainment alone. You know seeing a chainsaw on a big screen would be awesome.
“School of Rock” goes to TV – It’s been over a decade now since the Jack Black movie was a big hit, but The Hollywood Reporter claims that Nickelodeon is teaming with producer Scott Rubin, director Richard Linklater, and possibly more to adapt the show for TV. It has been given already an order of 13 episodes.
There’s no word on Black’s participation, but his character of Dewey Finn from the film will still be the lead. There’s an interesting connection here to the network, given that Miranda Cosgrove starred in the film prior to finding fame on “iCarly.”
