‘The Mentalist’ season 7 spoilers: First episode titles suggest ‘Blue Skies’ for Jane, Lisbon
When “The Mentalist” season 7 premieres at some point in the 2014-15 season (we seriously cannot be more specific than that), it definitely seems as though things for Jane and Lisbon will finally be in a happy place. Just think it for a minute: How often has Simon Baker’s character ever been in a position where he was truly happy, and not just trying to mask his anxiety or pain with some other emotion?
We are reading a lot into the episode title for the premiere when it comes to how Jane is feeling, but there is one thing we certainly feel to be pretty likely: He’s going to have plenty of other drama to deal with soon enough.
The following three titles (all of course color-themed) come to us courtesy of writer/producer Jordan Harper on Twitter.
7×01, “Nothing But Blue Skies” – Isn’t this lovely? It actually reminds us somewhat of “My Blue Heaven,” which was the almost repiloted episode of the show after Red John died.
7×02, “The Graybar Hotel” – For those of you not hip with the lingo (or didn’t go to Urban Dictionary to look this up, which we did), this is just a euphemism for the slammer, the big house, i.e. jail.
7×03, “Orange Blossom Ice Cream” – We’ve never had this, but it’s basically a combination of vanilla ice cream and orange sherbet. Sound delicious to anyone? It’s hard to know why this is an episode of the show, though.
Still, we like these titles for the most part, especially in comparison to some of the strange ones that we had in the spring (“Black Helicopters” was to us one of the worst).

While the title of the priemre does seem to point to possibly good things for Jane and Lisbon, I’d like to point out that the title could be misleading. I mean the season finale of Castle last year had everyone thinking that Castle and Beckett may end up getting married by the end of the episode because of the title, yet they ended it by making everyone think that Castle had been killed.
