It’s no secret that the fan support for “Sherlock” and “Doctor Who” extends far beyond their home country of Great Britain. There are millions who love these shows, and want to see as much of them as humanly possible.
Now that we’ve said that, let us add that there are also plenty of these people who’d love to see a mash-up of some sort, where Benedict Cumberbatch could meet a Doctor and the two could work together on something. In theory (or at least in fanfiction), this sounds like one of the coolest things ever. However, things are often very different in execution than they may sound in your brain.
In the video below from AVbyte entitled “Wholock,” you can at least get an idea of what such a meeting would be like … in musical form. It’s a charming, funny video, though in this world The Doctor is apparently still played by Matt Smith rather than Peter Capaldi. We do not want to say too much about the video right now, other than the fact that you really should watch it.
For those wondering, it has already been confirmed many times over that there is not going to be a crossover between the two shows. It would take “Sherlock” out of his natural world, and for this purpose alone this is really not an idea that is not worth exploring further … even if it does sound potentially fun in your brain.
What do you think about this video, and do you actually want to see a crazy crossover like this happen at some point?
