‘The Leftovers’ episode 6 preview: The reality for Nora Durst

As we’ve said in the past already about Sunday night’s new episode of “The Leftovers,” we’re not even 100% sure that you are even going to see Justin Theroux in it at all.

Instead, this episode looks to be more about Nora Durst (Carrie Coon), a woman who really did lose more than almost anyone in Mapleton. Not only is her husband gone, but so are her children. However, there is still an interesting dichotomy here between her story and that of Kevin. While his entire family made it through the departure, they are all as distant as distant can be and miserable. It’s almost as though he still did lose his loved ones as a result of what happened.

Meanwhile, Nora has almost become empowered in the end, and found a real voice for herself as a speaker and champion for those who remain. You do not see that fully in the sneak peek below, but you do get a much greater sense of what the general perception of her is by others. She is thought of mostly as a sympathetic figure, largely thanks to everything terrible that happened to her. There are others who perceive her a certain, and she can us that alongside her own charisma to find her way through this complicated new world.

We weren’t so sure about “The Leftovers” after the first two episodes, but the show has slowly started to win us over ever since. Let’s just see if that lasts by the time we reach the end of this season, which is hopefully going to be renewed for at least one more run.
