‘Arrow’ season 3 spoilers: Mom for Emily Bett Rickards’ Felicity (finally) cast
You’ve waited to find out something on the Felicity Smoak character for two years now on “Arrow,” and answers are finally about to start coming your way. You’re just not going to find out much about them right now.
Per TV Guide, “NYPD Blue” and “Days of Our Lives” alum Charlotte Ross is going to grace the show for at least one episode airing this November as Felicity’s mother … but that’s really it. Producers are being tight-lipped about whether or not she will appear in the past or the present, and what sort of a person she is save for that we already know she worked as a cocktail waitress in Las Vegas. Given that Ross is 46, she could probably play either flashbacks or scenes in the present pretty effectively and still be believable as Felicity’s mom.
It was revealed at San Diego Comic-Con that Felicity was going to get a big backstory episode, and one that has been planned for quite some time now. The title of it is “Oracle,” which probably does immediately raise some eyebrows about whether or not this could be tied to the famous DC Comics character Oracle, otherwise known in most iterations as Barbara Gordon from the Batman universe.
Felicity’s father is someone who is still extremely mysterious, but one theory from Comic-Con that you can forget about is that she has a relation to Dr. Anthony Ivo. The fact that the two are both geniuses in some way is a mere coincidence.
