‘Arrow’ season 3 spoilers: Meet the show’s Wildcat!

More scoop -Arrow” really wasted no time at all in announcing who was set to play Wildcat! It was only days ago that the character was even unveiled to be on the show, and we now officially know the metaphorical man behind the past.

According to Deadline, J.R. Bourne (“Emily Owens MD,” “House of Payne”) is set to recur throughout at least part of the third season as Ted Grant, the alter ego for this iconic DC character. He is well-known for actually training many in the comic books who join the Justice League of America … including Black Canary. See where we are going here? All we know for the show is that he is a former boxer who runs a gym for underprivileged kids, and that he will spend a ton of time with Katie Cassidy’s Laurel Lance over the coming episodes.

It has long been believed from the very beginning that Laurel would eventually become the Canary, and the moment at the end of the season 2 finale between her and Sara was a big step forward to this happening. This new casting, coupled with Cassidy hitting them gym hard this summer and packing on muscle, all seem to be signs that this is where the story is going.

For now, we like the casting of this character, though we are still very much curious what the show has planned for their other prominent new character in Ra’s al Ghul. We know that casting is underway, but given the important nature of this part, we would not be surprised if they really took their time with it.
